New Herb Garden at The Village of Arts and Humanities!

On Tuesday, May 12, members of the Wissahickon Garden Club gathered on the corner of Warnock and Cumberland to plant a community herb garden in the heart of the Village.

A group of teens from the Village's Learning Through the Arts program have volunteered to maintain the garden throughout the year. Beyond simply beautifying the neighborhood, the Herb Garden will serve as a hands-on opportunity for our teens to become involved with Philadelphia's renowned 'Buy Fresh Buy Local' campaign and urban farming initiatives, learn about creative package design and marketing, assess and plan for the next season, and other aspects of small business entrepreneurship.

For more photos of the Herb Garden, please click here for our Facebook page, and explore our photo album.

The Village of Arts and Humanities thank the Wissahickon Garden Club and the Philadelphia Committee of the Garden Club of America for their generous support of our new garden.
